For years of old, I listened to you play
concertos, nocturnes, all were our mundane.
But now, to fill the silence of each day,
recordings of those times are my refrain.
This piece is one I loved, in moody C,
yet there, within its frantic har

haiku for my morning companion

squirrel perched on the branch,
you chitter so wrathfully.
have your acorn back.

Could you hold my hand
Under this sky,
Mountains
Upon mountains of
Low-hanging specters,
Ominous in
Nature, yet somehow
Inviting to
My curious eyes—
Billowing,
Unyielding
Sovereignty.
